Ralf74: It took me some time to even realise that these forums even existed after I joined. I have never even been part of a forum until I saw this one and for a while I just sat back and read them. I remember thinking how dominant most of the personalities were in here and it was quite daunting to make the leap and find a place where I fit in here.
Like both of your posts on this, Ralf.
I can't speak for men. I can only speak for me.
Have spent lots of time on the forums in the past on and off.
Ralf's right men start a lot of threads.
But prob don't ad to them as much.
Why? There's a difference in male and female conversation - a generalisation to be sure but one that most will agree on.
Also there's a difference in how we communicate.
Not sure why that is...maby because as kids men fight with fists women with words and so men quickly learn to get on or something. Or perhaps it has also to do with the cultures we enjoy women like womans mags and desperate housewives etc men would rather stab themselves in the leg with a fork. Anyway, partly women see conversation more competively than men and analise everyword for possible threat and often have a need to be part of the conversation(or I might not be part of the group). Where as men will comment if they feel like it not because they feel left out if they don't.
So I guess we like communicating about different things and in different ways.
What happens a lot is weather a man or woman starts a thread you soon have a predomance of woman input, the subject changes to something less likely to interst men so they don't comment?
Or I could be talking out of my arse?
