If she's cute or interesting a guy would be flattered.
If she's unappealing and she's already got a script rolling over in her head that plans your life for the next fifty years, you'd feel uncomfortable and want to run for the door.

There are people who are incapable of intimacy and they're timewasters, or people with real problems, but conversely if you say it too soon you scare off the person you want to meet.
Without sounding too cruel about it you have to impose some boundaries upon yourself how much you're prepared to let someone much you around. You have to protect your own heart.
As a rule if you're doing all the giving, don't say it, because maybe they don't love you and you wont hear their deafening silence until you remain quiet.
