well said. we live in a world where it has become increasingly ok and even cool to attack someone's religion, ESPECIALLY christianity. talk about double standard.
That's a really tough question. I guess love in stronger than small technicalities. A really good point in my opinion was made regarding discipline. I've seen in my lifetime experience that the behaviour of the child can have a big strain on the relationship. They key to that is winning over the child from start. Show the child that he/she is part of this relationship as well if its serious. Remember, you don't want your child to be left out and you don't want your lover to be left out. You have to find a common ground. There is alot of single parents that eventually find their soulmate. A child is never excess baggage and no parent should treat their children like that. My cousin had two kids before she got married. Hurray!
Hey John. I'm not sure if you're right about everything in your post but I do think that you might be correct on the hunch that this will turn into an argument about who is absolutely right and who is absolutely wrong. My life experience has thought me that although God might exist we are so detached from God that his influence in our life is mininum. That's just my experience. Atheists argue that if God do exist and is omnipotent and loving then why are there so many diseases in this world? I have an opinion about that but I'm wondering what other people in this forum think about my last statement. I think God (if he exist) is the creator of the universe and the creator of all. The universe as we all know did have a starting point and it continually increasing in its entropy. The fact that so many millions of people believe in God isn't enough reason to think that God must exist? But the atheist (no insults intended John so please don't take offense) will contend that these people are just ignorant and have a lack of knowledge when it comes to science. There are alot of people with pHDs that believe in God. I guess they were educated at the wrong university? At the end of the day we really don't know, we go on our instinct or gut feeling. Some people have claimed to see God but were their minds playing tricks with them or did they really see God/Angels/Demons? Two nights ago i was having vivid nightmares and awoke to saw some dude in my apartment. I asked "what the f... are you doing here" then the guy disappeared. Obviously I was hallucinated because of the intensity of my dreams. I was rational enough to realise that. So I can see where atheists are coming from. Especially now that they have an atheist point of view as to how life formed. OH.. my bad, is this topic about who God is to all of us or if he exist? Because if he doesn't exist what he is to us is somewhat irrelevant. Don't you think? If he doesn't exist then we are our own gods and we are gods or caretakers of this earth and our laws should be made as to what is the most efficients laws to enhance and prolonge the livelihood of this planet. However, for now, God to me is the God of the bible. Oh.... I hope that last sentence wasn't too politically incorrect. Its still ok to read the bible right?
i'm curious. what do you mean by sticking to your feminist values? can you explain that to me please? are they also masculine values? and should guys stick to their masculine values if such a thing exist? i'm just trying to understand, that's all.
