I agree...but Dave Mustaine leaving was the best thing for both bands. He is too much of a personality to compete with James Hetfield. Metallica would have imploded if he'd have stayed.
Getting rid of Dave Mustaine in '83 was also a big part in the move to a cleaner, more solid sound. The addition earlier of Cliff Burton in place of Ron McGovney was the first step in this direction.
Hmmm...maybe the key is to look for a fake lying cheater. What you'll find are nothing but nice, good people. Just like that old trick of looking in the last place first...cuz that's where it'll always be.
