I remember watching the Searchers on black & white tv performing a charity pop concert sponsored by the New Musical Express at the Empire Pool Wembley, the line up then was Mike Pender, John Mcnally, Tony Jackson (who left about that time) and Chris Curtis on drums...drummer Curtis did all the talking between songs & even sang lead on a couple. On the same subject a lot of people don't know that Van Morrison was a successful group singer in the 60s with a group called Them...charting with Gloria, Here comes the night and Baby please don't go.
Good thread.....I must admit 2 being a bit of a 60s music anorak....always enjoyed the Searchers, but i'm so far into it i'm looking at tracks & line ups from such obscure 60s groups as Honeybus, Cupids Inspiration & Pinkertons Assorted Colours.....guess thats blown my cred good & proper!!!!!
