A player is someone who leeds you on with no intention of ever committing to you and letting you think whatever you want with no explanations about their behaviour. They also could be dating someone, or be in a relationship without your knowledge while the whole time leeding you to think that they want to be with you. That is cruel. A player is also a person who generally does not know what they want. They get enjoyment out of watching 2 women fight over them and the whole time most likely has no intentions of being with either one.
I agree, it depends on the individual's insecurities. In a good relationship each person should try to support each other when their insecurities arise.
