RE: what do people think of ireland

'I travelled the world in search of wonders and I came back here to find them' - I am borrowing from G.B Shaw but I think that is in a way very true when you describe Ireland. I moved here almost a decade ago and it has been wonderul. I can't say I have a bad thing to say about anybody whom I have met or interacted with. It is the most beautiful place in the world in the summer. The winter is a bit annoying.

The Irish are jovial and mostly easy going and for that reason they suffer a lot of fools in the Govt but then the Irish are not alone in World with that.

Now all this was in a time of plenty. As an immigrant to these shores I am apprehensive of what it would be like in the lean years. Will the Jovial, always helpful, compassionate, friendly Irish Man/Woman turn nasty, hopefully not. As for the immigrants who came here and made it their home I think they owe to Ireland and Irish to stay and help Ireland through these lean years.

RE: Third Most Poular Political Party in Ireland....= Fianna Fail

Some of this problem is a fall out of the Global credit crunch. But there is no way that it is entirly that. The bankers/builders/Govt together build a ponzy scheme and called it an economic boom. Now they have to pay the price.

The Irish economy has been mismanaged for years and any student economics could have pointed out that.

To change the Govt now would be counter productive instead Ireland should now go back to the drawing board and put togther a plan for getting us on a steady growth path. If well managed we could get back to YOY of 4% GDP growth in a couple of years.
