Come back to me in 10 years time Rob with a bit of life experience, a mortgage, bills and responsibilities! I moved to London at 18 when i couldn't get a job here and have been there untill a few years ago! I totally missed the Celtic tiger and from what i hear very few public sector workers benefited from it. Its true nursing was better paid here in Ireland than the uk but with all the pension levies and pay cuts its actually now on a par if you compare nett income payslips. I don't think i am greedy, i work hard, have numerous qualifications and work in a specialised area which hopefully means i will always be in demand. I realise i am lucky unlike a lot of colleagues down the country who are on temporary contracts and their positions are tenuous.
I bought my first car at 33yrs and my house at 35yr! Neither of which are particularly flash!
I appreciate that most people are having a hard time at the moment and i count myself luckier than most. But pitting private sector against public sector is not getting anyone anywhere.
Don't bet on it! I'm with you saoirse! I'm a public sector worker and i'm currently having trouble paying the gas bill. I hope they will wait till payday and not cut me off! Its great that in these times people can still afford to go on holidays - I'm 36 and i've never been to Disneyland! Didn't do me any harm!!
Whats the point of this if no-one asks anyone out????!!!!!! I thought this was a dating website! And as for the people standing other people up - thats low!
I would have to agree about Last of the Mohicans ( when the sister steps off the cliff after her lover has his throat cut!!) The look on her face, totally calm, haunted......wow! Plus the "you stay alive i will find you"! Oh my God! Daniel Day Lewis is fab! My other favourite is The English Patient!
