ojisan...i am athiest and i do not find your thread to be offensive. people seeking knowledge is a good thing. :) i would assume each athiest is different kind of like vegetarians or any other group of people. each manifests their beliefs differently. i myself believe christ was a real man, who was incredible, i just dont believe in god or higher powers. and as others have sited dec. is not the time of his birth, it is actually the winter solstice; that was taken from pagan rites that existed before christ. (no offense to christians) i have always tried to live christlike though not a christian, i just feel thats how we should live as humans. i feel that , to me this is the epicenter of christmas..many christians ( and others) seem wrapped up in gifts, shopping, parties, etc...when the true meaning is goodwill, love, peace. i personally celebrate it much like other people, spending time with the ones i love, a large meal if possible...appreciating the ones i love and the good things of life, volunteering time to those less fortunate than myself. because of how i feel about the season/holiday i prefer to have it off like anyone else, but like anything else i would trade shifts or work for someone who was devout or who had children...that whole christlike thing, lol. i love the christmas holiday and love to bring cheer to those around me, even though i am not a christian. i believe understanding and love the most important things in this world, we should all relax and love our brothers and sisters christan, muslim, jew and buddhist alike. hope this helps :D
