Travel info on Canada

I am a fit and healthy white guy in my mid forties who will be visiting Canada, from South Africa, in November and am hoping to meet people online now so as to establish friendships prior to me traveling to Canada.I enjoy the outdoors and sport and am a keen rugby fan (obviously being from SA). I have hardly ever seen snow (maybe 4 times in my life)and cannot wait to try skiing, snowboarding and skating.

I live in a very warm climate - can still swim and surf in the Indian Ocean in the middle of our winter and I love to ride my Harley along the coast of Durban.

I will be based in Halifax initially but would like to see as much of Canada as possible, so, if you think you could assist me by being my 'virtual' tour guide initially, who knows, maybe we could explore a bit of Canada together!!

If you would like any more info about me and South Africa, I am more than happy to oblige as well.

Thank you very much for your mail with the pertinent comment which is gladly received! Thanks also for the tips about Halifax - will have to buy some winter woolies as we are going into peak summer at that time and my cupboards say 'summer' only!

Stating he is white sounds a bit odd, but we should note he is from south africa, and being white make him a different person. I am half african, have leaved in africa and it makes me feel like i know what he want to say. I have been in canada and hope what he will see might make him feel and see every race there feel's the same. Enjoy ur winter SIR. I love his generousity and may be next year might go to Soutth Africa but i am not white Lady.

Lived in Canada for 12 years and loved it! Made alot of East coast friends or maritimers. Great people, great country and make sure you have your drinking boots on!! They love a drop of ale over there. You'll have a blast for sure. A bit far from Alberta and the Rocky Mountains from Halifax, but if you get the chance to go there, take it you won't be dissapointed. Good luck.

You will find the right kind of "winter woolies" at stores in Halifax when you get there, so there's no need to bring more than a warm jacket and a couple of sweaters/jumpers for the first few days. My ex said clothing was generally cheaper in Canada too. Have a fabulous journey!
