Take the example of a diamond. It needs to be not only of good material, but it is imperative that it be cut really well, polished, faceted, and then light is important. In the dark it cannot be appreciated, and the observer must have good eyesight, for a blind man would never know the difference. That is one way of looking at beauty. The other example that comes to mind is music, most of which is beautiful and makes us feel good. It speaks to us, and it has the power to change reality, perspective, and it transcends time and space. It lives in our hearts.
