First of all, you can't get to know someone by glancing at photos or a profile. I think this would be common sense, but it is also backed up by studies. Look it up if you like.
Whenever I write that I want to meet someone of normal height and weight or that I'm not interested in losers (i.e. people that whine all the time "I'm a loser")- and I put that on a free dating profile- people make complaints about me and I get deleted even when I haven't broken any rules. When I inquire about it I'm told I'm harassing people or some other nonsense. So we'll see if I last long on this site. But for that reason I won't bother communicating with anyone online other than to say "Hi. Would you like to meet for a cup of coffee" the conversation begins and ends there. I'm not interested in impressing you online or trying to get to know each other online. If that isn't long enough or impressive enough, it's not my problem. I don't need you.
I'm just looking to meet new people, trust me I don't need to impress you, you aren't that important to me.

I look for someone with above average intelligence, who is well adjusted emotionally and socially and can set up a meeting and show up on time. I like to go out and do stuff on my free time and would be happy to have someone to do it with, whether its just friends or a date. I go to an online dating site and ask people to hang out and I get insulted or I get people that say yes then don't show up, I get people that say "you need to impress me with your online conversation" I get people that offer sex for money, I get people obsessed with what kind of job I do/what car I drive etc. I deal with every kind of nonsense except someone willing to just meet me and go hang out. So I really don't take this too seriously. I don't really expect anything out of it, I just figure I'll give it a try just in case I meet someone normal. And I really don't need to impress anyone. If I don't know you and have never met you in real life then the fact is I just don't need you or want you and I can't emphasize that point enough. If you are single and looking you probably need me more than I need you, yet these people make no effort to actually meet or to even be pleasant to talk to. Simply shooting someone an e-mail and meeting at a coffee shop sounds really simple but about 99.999% of people online can not do this. The reason is most of the people on these sites are dysfunctional losers. I'm pretty well adjusted and self confident and have no mental or emotional problems- trust me on that one. And I'd just like to meet someone who is the same.
