More About Me
Born and raised in the Midwest, I moved to NC in 2019. I got sick in 2018, had to go on disability, and couldn't afford to live in Chicago anymore. It keeps me home most of the time, but I can go to the store or out for a few hours if I'm having a good day. It's the reason my last relationship ended, so I'm wary of trying to date again. For now I would like to have a email/chat/text buddy, because it does get pretty lonely here.
I've been divorced since 2011, and I have two adult children (both in their 30s). They live in another state, so I do not see them often, although we text back and forth frequently. I don't currently have any pets, but I would like to get a dog sometime. (I am allergic to cats.)
I am a HUGE sports fan. Football, baseball, hockey, NASCAR, I'm watching something year round. Chicago fan in all sports. I'm also a space and science geek. (I know, weird combination.) My musical tastes are all over the place, from classical to classic rock and everything in between.
There was no question for politics, but that is important these days. I am a lifelong independent/unaffiliated. I vote for a person, not a letter. I've been an election judge since the '90s. I will never tell you how to vote, but I want you to vote (even if it cancels me out).
More About my Match
* As I said earlier, sports are a big part of my life, and my ideal match should share that. Bonus points if she's been running a fantasy football league for years.
* She's kind to animals, children, and servers. Yelling at the wait staff will guarantee a quick end to the date.
* She's GenX or Boomer. A lot of men my age want younger women; I don't. It's important that we have similar memories, upbringing, and values. I make a lot of 60s/70s/80s references and I don't want to be met with a blank stare.
Notice that looks didn't make the top 3. I don't look great, but I have a lot of amazing qualities underneath. I know I'm not the only one, so looks don't matter that much. I have a couple of personal preferences, like anyone else. For some reason I have a thing for long, curly hair. And a lot of ink is a turnoff for me. A couple of accent pieces are no big deal, but I just don't like the sleeves and the full back murals. Sorry, it's just not my thing.
