More About Me

I am a US-based freelance journalist planning to pitch an article to The Atlantic that compares online dating across cultures, and the frustrations that men face, in particular. An article just came out in The Atlantic about the frustrations women face.

America has a strong feminist culture, where women are often so afraid of being objectified that they don't assume the feminine charms that would be normal in Europe (although I imagine Southern and Northern differ). Online, they are driven away by a "take charge" manly attitude.

This makes for a more structured, almost asexual, gender-confused dating environment, where men are considered to be almost like "big bad wolves," preying on women. American men grow frustrated from talking for weeks or months with women who are unwilling to meet.

I would be curious to know if you have any take on the matter, and whether you might point me to any contacts.
