More About Me

I have just recently moved back to Saint Louis after a long sojourn to other cities. I have discovered that the city has not changed all that much; remaining the beautiful, historical city that makes it so unique; not unlike a beautiful diamond yet to be discovered.

After all the trials and tribulations one encounters on life’s journey, I believe my philosophy of life can best be expressed in this beautiful melody which I love:

Books I love: classical literature, history, biographies, and any book that you have to put down every five minutes to contemplate on what the author just wrote. The Brothers Karamazov, Notes from Underground, Madame Bovary, Time and Again, Great Expectations, Anton Chekhov short stories and many more.

Movies I love: Doctor Zhivago, Pretty Woman, Manhattan, My Man Godfrey, The Fountainhead, The Apartment, Days of Wine and Roses, It's a Wonderful Life and especially...

Almost any movie made during the 30s and 40s when life seemed less complicated; people communicated face to face and danced in an embrace -- film noir, pre-code and black & white movies.

Music I love: Torch songs, Blues, Russian classical, symphonic music, even some old country songs by Hank Williams Sr. In other words, I enjoy emotional music with lyrics that you can understand and a melody that you cannot forget.

Things I cannot do without: art, great books, great people, stimulating conversations, black & white photography, pen and paper, music, The NY Times newspaper, and the New Yorker magazine.

Things I often think about: the meaning of life, expression, why most women are smarter and wiser than men, and the perils of modern technology.

More About my Match
