Planning and saving up for a move to Maine from New Hampshire, looking to settle down on a plot of land to live a relatively simple lifestyle in a quiet area with a beautiful night sky. Primarily what I do now revolves around geology and emergency response, but I spent my mid-20s taking time off from school and working various careers to better understand what I liked as well as gain experience in desired skills that I found would be helpful to the more DIY lifestyle I have in mind.
I find it exciting to learn new things, and in my personal life I enjoy the outdoors, birding, foraging, gardening, doing conservation work, and putting effort in places where the changes are visible and tangible. Over the last few years I've been working hard to save up enough to purchase a parcel of land to take care of and build a smaller footprint lifestyle that relies less on the grid and more self-sufficiently that I can share and build with someone like-minded and also hard-working.
The passions I've carried from my childhood include insects, plants, weather, and generally figuring how things tie into the bigger picture. I've spent the last few years taking care of my family and getting a career on track, these days I travel a great deal for work, and while this job has been great for saving up for my life goals, living out of a suitcase isn't something I'm looking for in the long-term.
As an aside, some of the things I've come to love about Maine are:
- The vast amount of wilderness to explore!
- Beautiful terrain and coastland, solid bedrock.
- Some of the cleanest soil, air, and water in the country.
- Down to Earth people.
- No billboards :)

Someone who is a hard-worker, loves nature, solid adventure buddy who enjoys working with her hands, and understanding of someone with a hectic work schedule and a lot on his plate sometimes. That understanding will be reciprocated in kind, life can get busy and I believe it's important to be able to stand on our own when we need too while at the same time having each other's best interests in mind for the long run.
