More About Me
Having spent the last year in altering and improving my own small terraced house 8 miles west of Durham, and being positively resigned to single status, I would like, however, to meet up with others who, like myself, had hoped for a country reflecting Jeremy Corbyn's views on peace and cooperation rather than the nightmare we find ourselves living under, to walk, listen, talk, enjoy the benefits of a free bus pass, events, nature, etc.
In June 2014 I sold my house in France and went backpacking in South East Asia, Australia, Turkey, Spain, Cyprus, Holland ... now I am back in UK and want to try again to find ...a friend first all who hopefully will become much more. ...
Who am I! ... ... painfully honest, totally loyal, fascinated and often bemused by anything and everything, people especially. Open to new ideas or new thinking on old ideas. Enjoy most of the arts especially live music but theatre, art galleries, old buildings, reading (I don't have a television) photography, cooking, making and repairing things (I don't do materialism) nature and the countryside are all joyfully appreciated and especially conversations that get past "where do you come from ...".
I walk or cycle almost every day for pleasure and keeping fit, follow current affairs, travelled a lot during my misspent youth, went to Africa as a Volunteer with my young family for two years in the 80's, see the solution rather than the problem, tactile, affectionate, sincere, self aware, thoughtful, complex and far from perfect ...!
I am not looking for an instant full on relationship, I want to find a friend who I can trust, share and laugh with and then ... ? A very good platonic friend of mine from Croatia described me as "the last of the old fashioned English gentlemen",.... she meant it as a joke but I took it as a compliment!
