RE: GAA Thread

Amazing now that Dublin won and won well that it's all quiet here.

I reckon if Mayo had won, we would not hear the end of it.
There is an anti Dublin bias and that's wrong.
Dublin are a great team and when they win the Leinster title again
and again all we hear is "they haven't played a good team yet"
blah blah blah
Give the Dubs some credit ireland

RE: GAA Thread

A great game today!

Well done de dubs! ireland

RE: GAA Thread

Well said!
Dublin were over physical....and Mayo didn't play till last 10 mins.
May the best team win as you say!
Kerry are winners and if they are playing poorly, just up their game instead of bad mouthing others. That's the only way to win imo.ireland

RE: GAA Thread

I must have missed something too!
I'm sure I saw Joe Mc Sky Blue give 2 black cards and a red to
them Dubs.....and a dodgy penalty to Mayo in the final minutes.

Enough of the Dub bashing! They are a good team and as much as I
hate to say it, Kildare are rubbish in comparison. Instead of Dub bashing, the rest of Leinster need to kick themselves up the hole
and up their game. ireland

RE: Is Island a hot country?

Some islands hot and some not! Island has just applied to the UN to be recognised as a country.

Isn't Goballoonter part of Spaindunno
Don't you use the euro in Spain?
Or if you are an ape or related to one I hear u can use nuts.
Is the cashew nut worth more than a peanut? or is it the other way around confused

RE: What's ur fav 80's movie?

Yeah I heard that...they have been talking about it for years.
Harrison Ford is supposed to play his role again(before he kills or injures himself or dies of old age)
The first movie is a hard act to follow but if they have a good
storyline, who knows?

RE: What's ur fav 80's movie?

Blade Runner with Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Daryl Hannah and William Sanderson(wimpy mayor in Deadwood) amongst the cast.

And futuristic music by Vangelis

If Carlsberg made movies

Transfer Deadline Day

Was impressed with Liverpool display today.
Looks like they have enough firepower up front even with Suarez gone. I don't think Spurs will be a top 4 team.
Chelsea look the team to beat at the moment.
Fletcher and Anderson going to Shamrock Rovers tomorrow. laugh

Transfer Deadline Day

Will Arsenal finally sign a centre forward?

Chelsea and Man City hardly need any more players but Remy gone to Chelsea today. Torres is out.
Kagawa gone from United and that other fella with the half a dozen
names, Chiquita Banana Javier Hernandez O'Toole.
Liverpool and Arsenal need a couple more signings to have a decent chance of winning the league.

Man utd dead and buried

Or a "too much money, very little talent" virus
It's becoming a pandemic laugh

Man utd dead and buried

How can u lose 4-0 to MK DONS????

There was a poll earlier about who would finish where in the PL.

Someone thought Man U would win the league.
Others predicted a top 4 finish.
What do u think now?

First 3 games in the PL could not have been easier for United.

Swansea,Sunderland and Burnley.

Burnley looking a tough fixture now!

Important weekend coming up.

Is Di Maria for €75 million the answer?
We'll see on Saturday!
Burnleys whole team didn't cost €75 million.

Hey! Rooney, Van Persie....why don't u get your agent to demand another wage increase. laugh

RE: who will be next utd manager

United could do worse laugh
Micko is one of the best managers of all time.ireland

RE: who will be next utd manager

Ryan Giggs as permanent manager!! I don't think so.

The media gets carried away as usual just because of a 4-0 win
against a bad Norwich side who are going to be relegated.
Losing at home to Sunderland for the first time since 1968 yesterday has put an end to that rubbish.
Giggs is giving "jobs for the boys" with his mates Butt, Scholes and Neville as assistants.
Does being ex Man Utd. players make them great coaching staff or managers?
Could have been 2 or 3 nil to Sunderland yesterday.
SUNDERLAND?????? at Old Trafford. Second time this year.
If Moyes was still there, what would they be saying?

RE: Premiership

Ryan Giggs is temporary manager.

I hope Ferguson has no say in who should be the next manager considering it was him that backed Moyes.
At this stage Ferguson should exit from Man U entirely.

RE: Premiership

Looks like Moyes is getting the bullet.....

RE: Premiership

Seamus Coleman given man of the match award for Everton today.

60 grand transfer from Sligo Rovers.....how much is he worth now??

I bet Arsenal wish they had bid more than the 40 million for Suarez
in the transfer window. 60 to 70 million would have been a bargain and they may have won the league with his scoring ability.
Arsenal need a good striker..

RE: Premiership

Man U now fighting for 6th place with Spurs to qualify for Europa
league. I reckon they will need to win their 4 remaining games to do this and hope Spurs slip up.
Six more points probably enough for Liverpool unless Man City win all their remaining games.

30 goals for Suarez even missing the start of the season....

applause

RE: Premiership

If Man Utd lose to Everton today their chance to play in Europe
next year is gone. Even a draw may not be good enough.

RE: Premiership

Looks like Liverpool vs Chelsea will be deciding game..

Liverpool ireland

RE: Premiership

LIVERPOOL ireland

RE: Premiership

How much longer will Moyes be in charge?

Fellaini and Mata in the team last night and no improvement.
Gary Neville pointed out that Utd. had recently spent 80 million
pounds on the above 2 and Zaha. Spending another 100 or 150 million may not solve the problem and Utd. need to get more out of the players they already have.
Is Moyes the man to do it?

Liverpool game tonight....should be plenty of goals!

RE: Premiership

I agree about Mourinho...tactically he is the smartest.

I'd like to see Liverpool win it also. Great side to watch at the moment...some people were writing Brendan Rogers off last year.
Man City may do it...they have the quality players. As you say it's been the most entertaining run in for years.

RE: Premiership

2-0 to Man City tonight

Liverpool to destroy Sunderland tomorrow night.
Suarez to break Robbie Fowlers season goal scoring record.
No penalties and missed the first 5 or 6 games of the season.
That's some doing applause

Delighted to see Ramos sent off in the Classico. Justice! for the fact he surrounded the referee to get a Barca player sent off or carded for the Real Madrid penalty that was outside the box.
Ronaldo moaning about the ref next day. The fact is he was upstaged by Benzema....all Ronaldo did was score a dodgy penalty, not much else except looking for penalties all night.

RE: who will be next utd manager

Drawn against Bayern Munich.

Arsenal didn't do too bad against Bayern so they can be beaten.

I reckon a draw at best at Old Trafford with a narrow Bayern win in the second leg. Only way I can see Utd win this tie is on away goals.
First leg could just as easy be 2-0 to Bayern. But anything can happen in a two horse race.

RE: who will be next utd manager

100% right about De Gea and his double save in the first half.
Had it been 1-1 at halftime, I don't think Utd would have got through. Woeful goalkeeping for the free kick goal to make it 3-0.

The night Nani got sent off, Real Madrid were there for the taking.
Really high foot from Nani and after if happens he does the worst acting I've seen in years....pretending it is he that has been badly hurt and rolling around in pretend agony. If I was the ref that night, I may have let him off with a stern warning for the high
footed challenge but taking the piss like he did would have annoyed me. I reckon he didn't help his own cause with the blatant acting.

RE: who will be next utd manager

I'm not trying to state the obvious but

Vidic is leaving
Ferdinand is past it(says almost everyone)
Evra...how poor he looked for pace tonight against an average team..
how would he be shown up against Real Madrid for instance.
For a few seasons there, I thought Man utd just needed a new midfield but now it seems their whole back 4 is falling apart also.
As for Carrick, Cleverly, Nani, Valencia, Anderson?, Felliani....
I'm sure Barcelona, Bayern, Real Madrid etc. have been shaking in their boots laugh
The fact is that even though they won the premier league last year,
they have been shown to be a poor team in Europe in the last few years.
Remember getting put into the Europa league after failing to a major power like Basel in champions league group stages and them being humiliated home and away by another major European power..
Athletic Bilbao (I think it was) in the Europa league. Or winning just 2 games in the group stages against the weak Romanian side in the group and failing to qualify. The writing has been on the wall for a long time.
Excuse the sarcasm!
A reality check is badly needed...
They are a big club in name only right now....
I wouldn't get carried away by the result tonight.
A lot of Utd fans in the stadium were biting their nails in the last 20 minutes....The greek team had too many good chances on the night. If they draw Madrid next game????

RE: who will be next utd manager

The players have to take some of the blame.
Rooney and Van Persie are on almost 600 grand a week between them.
That's nearly the wage bill for eleven players for some of the lower premiership teams.
They should start by scoring more goals...their tally has been poor
this year....certainly not good enough to justify what they are paid.
I think they will score at least 2 goals against an average greek side tonight...if they don't, they should be ashamed of themselves.

RE: who will be next utd manager

laugh

Have some pity for all them Utd fans will ye! scold

I notice a lot of them are keeping their head down and
hoping the misery will soon pass laugh

RE: who will be next utd manager

Frank Rijkaard would be my choice..

Managed Barcelona for about 5 years with a couple of league titles and a champions league win.

RE: Premiership

The deciding factor will be the players..with united still paying
stupidly high wages, a lot of players will be attracted.
I think they will always have the finances. If the Glaziers fail financially there is always some other mug willing to buy the club.
Gate receipts seem to be guaranteed. The stadium is almost always full....but that's just a weather and lifestyle thing.
Even when they are playing "Rubbish athletic" from Romania or wherever in the final group game of the champions league and Utd are already thru to the next round, 75,000 turn up at Old Trafford.
Why? Weather is crap and they have nothing better to do.
Have a look at similar circumstances when AC Milan or Barcelona are playing their final group game at home. I remember looking at about 20,000 in the crowd in some Italian home champions league games and this is a few years ago when Juventus, AC and Inter Milan were all strong teams. I've been 20 miles from Malaga when Real Madrid or Barcelona are the opponents in an evening game and sometimes wouldn't bother to go to the game when I had tickets available.
Why? A nice evening u could walk around in a t-shirt and have other fun things to do...laugh
