Wednesday Augest 1, 2007 a hero was burried. This hero died surving in Iraq, his vehicle was blown up. He got full millitary honers. One thing I didn't understand was why there "needed" to be Freedom Riders at his funeral, I was told it was to stop protesters. I thought why on earth would someone, no matter how evil they are, want to protest at a funeral. I was told that they would be protesting aginst the war. I still can't wrap my mind around why anyone would want to protest someones funeral that died protecting freedom. It seems to me that they are biting the hand that feeds them. Protesting at a funeral for someone who died protecting there right for freedom. Maybe I'm just to close to the subject and to much of a loyal American to understand why. As it turns out no one protested at our hero's funeral, but the Freedom Riders are not here for no reason. They go to every funeral for our millitary to stop protesters in Texas, i don't know about any other state. Our town is small and very supportive of our troops. I was also raised that way, my grandpa and uncle were in the navy. I was taught to honor our troops and treat them with respect. Maybe I am crazy to think this way but if I am then i want to stay crazy.
