Wounded Oysters

God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction (Genesis 41:52).

When seemingly needless suffering invades our lives, we often ask ourselves,"Who needs all this grief?" But consider, for a moment, the origin of pearls.

Each pearls is formed by an oyster's internal response to a wound caused by an irritant, such as a grain of sand. Resources of repair rush to the injured area. The final result is a lustrous pearl. Something beautiful is created that would have been impossible without the wound.

That was happening with Joseph (as written in the book of Genesis 41:46-57). He was become influential and it began with a wound-being sold by his brothers into slavery (Gen. 39). Because Joseph drew on God's resources and humiliated, he became better, not bitter.

If human pity could have rescued him from the sad part of his life, the glorious part that followed would have been lost. So if you're suffering, remember: No wounds, no beautiful and priceless pearls!

Adversities are often blessings in disguise.

LET'S LAUGH (Part 2)

One evening a man gave his tipsy secretary a ride home after an office party. His wife was prone to jealousy, so he didn't mention the incident to her. Later in the evening he was driving his wife to a restaurant when he noticed a stiletto-heeled shoe half-hidden under the passenger seat. Gripped with terror, he took advantage of a moment when she wasn't looking to grab the shoe and throw it out of the window. The rest of the journey went well until they arrived at the restaurant. "That's strange," said his wife looking a little agitated. "Have you seen my other shoe, honey?"

Let's Laugh

"I've had an awful time," a boy told his friends. "First, I got angina pectoris, then arteriosclerosis. Just as I was recovering, I got psoriasis. They gave me hypodermics and, to top it all, tonsillitis was followed by appendectomy."

"Wow!" sympathised his friends. "How did you pull through?"

"I don't know," the boy replied. "It was the toughest spelling test I've ever had."

WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD

This is one of favorite hymn song. The text goes tike this...

When we walk with the Lord, in the light of His Words, what a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us all, and with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:

Trust and obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

My highly gratitute to the late John Sammis and the late Daniel Towner whom composed this beautiful hymn.

May God bless us all!

Chorus:

Many things about tomorrow, I don't seems to understand. But I know Who hold tomorrow, and I know Who hold my hands.

Got a looooong journey!

Fiuh... I must say that I've got a looooong journey to find the answer of this question: "Whose rib am I belongs to?". I wish to meet him but what I met only the people which are has nothing to do but to abuse others. I was thinking why God allowed me to meet those peoples then while HE knows excatly what I need is a truest, God fearing and honest man. What was the meaning behind all these things? But now I've got the answer. He wants to prepare me before He send me the one I need. He trained me to be a strong one through all bad experiences that I had. He remind me how Abraham with patiently waiting for God's promise to give him children although he was too old to have children. I truly believe that actually God already had someone for me. I just need to wait... patiently. God, here I am. Am waiting.... Thank You for choosing me the right one according to Your will.

Haiti, you are not alone in facing this tragedy. We are all here, standing side by side, hand in hand will continue to pray for you and I believe each of us will see what else we can do for Haiti beside praying. May God be with us all.

THE POWER OF PRAY

This is one of my experience that I wanna share with you my friends. I teach a youth choir of a Christian high school, here in my home town. Last year 2009 supposed to be the 3rd concert for the choir. Since January 2009 we started the preparation, rehearsed about 15 Indonesia's traditional songs. All in sudden, beginning of July the principal announced that there will be no concert. It canceled without any good and clear reason. We are all got shocked at the moment we heard that announcement. I asked God why did this thing happened to us. I even complained! We are very, very tired in rehearsed those songs. One night, after my prayer time, I got a vision. HE spokes to me that I need to try once again, prepare everything from zero but change the theme which was not about the traditional songs anymore instead of Gospel and Christmas songs. I don't know what to do at the moment, what I know just followed what HE wants me to do. In other night in my pray I said,"God we don't have anything to make this plan happens. We need money to do this. But how we can get that money while the school didn't give the support? We need a place where we can perform. Just a small Church that will be ok."

I didn't hear or see any answer. During the rehearsal time, I asked the choir member to have pray time every night at 10 pm at our own places. We did it! And believe it or not it works!

One Sunday, after the service I met my friend and he's the lay leader of the church. I shared to him the problems that I have due to the plans. He was so happy to hear that and agree to help me. He said we can perform in that church. It's a big church!

In the following day Holy Spirit leaded me to meet the principal. Am not so sure he will agree with the plan. But once more, GOD showed me His greatness! The principal also was so happy with that plan even all the money we need finally covered all by the school!

Dec. 13, 2009, was the 'd' day. We performed and I gave the title for this event with THE GIFT which based on John 3:16. God is sooo good!

SMALL FAITH IN A BIG GOD!

Faith-we all wish we had more of it, especially when facing mountains problems. Yet most of us are well practiced in faith. We sit down in chairs without checking them out; we use microwave ovens without analyzing how they work; we want to be a rich one but we don't like to have a job just hopping manna from heaven just like that. We don't go around moaning,"If only I had more faith in chairs, microwaves...," We depend on these objects because we see them as reliable, not because we've worked up great feelings of confidence.

Jesus didn't say to His disciples,"Have more faith in God." He simply said,"Have faith in God." (Mk 11:22).

Many Christians have faith in faith rather than faith in God. When facing trials, they agonize to attain mountain size faith. But Jesus taught that faith the size of a mustard seed is sufficient, if planted in the soil of God's greatness (read Matthew 17:20). God bless.

LOOKING AHEAD

"Forgetting those things which are behingd..... I press toward the goal" (Philippians 3:13-14)

Some people have trouble looking ahead with hope because they keep looking back and moping over the mistake of the past. Their outlook for the future is dimmed, and their enthusiasm is dampened. But there is no use "crying over spilled milk" History in likely to repeat itself if they keep on brooding over failures of the old year or continue complaining about the injustices they suffered during the last 12 months or perhaps more than that. Nothing is gained by continually grieving over the past.

Every new day, let's begin by confessing our sins to the Lord and accepting the gracious forgiveness He offers (1 John 1:9-10). Make right what needs correcting, and then "forgetting those things which are behind" press onward with confidence and trus in our heavenly Father (Philp. 3:13-14). Let's stop looking back and brooding over past failures. Rather, with a forward look, let's move ahead with hope and joy.

Instead of living in the shadows of yesterday, let's walk in the light of today and the hope of tomorrow. God bless!
