Tips for Handling Telemarketers (Funny)

Tips for Handling Telemarketers

Three tips that Work !!
(1)The three little words are: 'Hold On, Please...'

Saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off (instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each telemarketing call so much more time-consuming that boiler room sales would grind to a halt.

Then when you eventually hear the phone company's 'beep-beep-beep' tone, you know it's time to go back and hang up your handset, which has efficiently completed its task.

(2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one on the other end?

This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls and records the time of day when a person answers the phone.

This technique is used to determine the best time of day for a 'real' sales person to call back and get someone at home.

What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there, is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7 times, as quickly as possible This confuses the machine that dialed the call and it kicks your number out of their system.. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer !!!

(3) Junk Mail Help:
When you get 'ads' enclosed with your phone or utility bill, return these 'ads' with your payment. Let the sending companies throw their own junk mail away.

When you get those 'pre-approved' letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope.

Most of these come with postage-paid return envelopes, right? It costs them more than the regular 41 cents postage 'IF' and when they receive them back.

It costs them nothing if you throw them away! The postage was around 50 cents before the last increase and it is according to the weight. In that case, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-paid return envelopes.
One of Andy Rooney's (60 minutes) ideas.
Send an ad for your local chimney cleaner to American Express. Send a pizza coupon to Citibank. If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them their blank application back!
If you want to remain anonymous, just make sure your name isn't on anything you send them.

You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them 41 cents.

The credit card companies are currently getting a lot of their own junk back in the mail, but folks, we need to OVERWHELM them. Let's let them know what it's like to get lots of junk mail, and best of all they're paying for it...Twice!

Let's help keep our postal service busy since they are saying that e-mail is cutting into their business profits, and that's why they need to increase postage costs again You get the idea !

Ask, And You Will Receive

Ask, And You Will Receive

All fulfillment comes from within. This may seem to be one of Jesus’s most extravagant promises. We have all asked and not received. To find out what Jesus actually meant, then, we have to answer a few questions: Who is asking? Where is the request going? Whom does it reach?
For most people, the asking comes from the ego, with its unending stream of desires. The request is going out into empty space or to a vaguely remembered God from childhood. The receiver of the request is unknown.
What this means is that asking and receiving are disconnected. Indeed, they must be, because in everyday awareness the world is separate from us and fragmented into millions of isolated events.
However, at a deeper level, everything is unified and whole. When you ask for anything, the One is asking the One, God is asking God. And there is always a response.
Learn to ask in a new way, by expecting every wish to bring a response. Take the attitude expressed by the Persian poet Rumi: “Ask all of yourself.” The mechanics of giving and receiving are inside you. Therefore, the next time you pray for something, or simply desire it, go through the following steps:
Express the desired outcome to yourself clearly. Detach yourself from your request after you make it. Take an undemanding attitude to the outcome. Be open to whatever response the universe gives back. Know that there is always a response.
In this case, “response” doesn’t mean a yes or no from God. There is no judge deciding whether you are worthy or not. Those perceptions were born of separation. Since you could not exist without being part of that intelligence, praying to god is circular, a feedback loop.

A qoute a friend of mine told me.

My WILL shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no
man's doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear ANY obstacle
before me or I can be lost in the maze. MY choice, MY responsibilty;
win or lose, only I hold the key to MY destiny.

Heart Meditation for lonliness

Heart Meditation
The ache of loss is difficult to bear, and often the worst part is the fear that nothing exists behind the ache except a void. Know that emptiness is an illusion. No matter how much you have suffered, your soul sees you as whole.
Affirm today that you share this vision and have the intention to allow the light of spirit to come in and fill any voids it may find. To aid in this repair, close your eyes and see white light surrounding you like a bubble or cocoon. Visualize the light filling the entire space within you, seeking out rifts, tears, holes, and gaps. Ask for these to be completely filled with light.
One of the worst parts of suffering a great loss is the feeling of utter isolation. The problem of loneliness, which exists for countless people, requires deeper healing than simply seeking out company. Loneliness can happen in a crowd and may feel most intense when you find yourself alone on a packed city street.
As a child it was easier to cure loneliness, because the presence of a parent was enough to offer reassurance. As an adult, loneliness becomes more existential – it feels as if you have been abandoned, yet you cannot say by whom.
Invite spirit in with a meditation on the heart. Sit quietly for a moment, placing your attention on your heart, at the center of your chest under the breastbone. When you are settled, repeat the word “peace” silently, and see its influence radiating out from your body in all directions. Do this three times, and then say the word “happiness” the same way. Repeat three times, then go on to “harmony,” “laughter,” and “love.”
Sit quietly for a few minutes after each session with eyes closed and simply appreciate the simplicity of quiet awareness. End it by sitting quietly and asking to be allowed into the refuge of your heart. Feel your heart as a soft, warm enclosure; settle there with your attention, and rest as long as you wish. If you repeat this technique enough times, you will find that the presence of spirit is very real and accessible.

5 lessons on how to treat people...

Let us all take these beautiful lessons to heart today...

1) In our life we will meet many people. All are significant. They all deserve our attention & care, even if all you do is smile and say 'hello'.

2) Never pass an opportunity to serve others. Our smallest gestures showing care can affect their life profoundly.

3) Always remember those who serve you, even in the smallest way. Never take them for granted even if they take you for granted!

4) Within every obstacle lies a golden opportunity to improve our condition.

5) Give when it counts. Give without counting. Give!

Six Tools for Happiness

Six Tools for Happiness
Adapted from What Happy People Know, by Dan Baker, Ph.D. and Cameron Stauth (Rodale Press, 2003).

We all want to be happy, but most of us are trapped by ways of thinking and behaving that seem to keep us perpetually dissatisfied.
But there are six simple tools that will help us to be truly, deeply happy. Find out what they are:
1. Appreciation.
This is the first and most fundamental happiness tool. Appreciation is the purest, strongest form of love. It is the outward-bound kind of love that asks for nothing and gives everything. Research now shows that it is physiologically impossible to be in a state of appreciation and a state of fear at the same time. Thus, appreciation is the antidote to fear.
2. Choice.
Choice is the root of freedom and the voice of the heart. Having no choices, or options, feels like being in jail. It leads to depression, anxiety, and the condition called learned helplessness. Choice can even govern perception. Anyone can choose the course of their lives, but only happy people do it.
3. Personal power
This is the almost indefinable proactive force, similar to character, that gives you power over your feelings and power over your fate. Personal power has two components: taking responsibility and taking action. It means realizing that your life belongs to you and you alone, and then doing something about it. Personal power keeps you from being a victim.
4. Leading with your strengths.
When you give in to the automatic fear reaction, it makes you focus on your weaknesses, which only reinforces your fear. But when you take the path of the intellect and spirit, you naturally begin to focus on your strengths–and start to solve your situation. People often think that fixing their weaknesses will save them, but it rarely works. It’s just too painful. Leading with your strengths feels good, and that’s why it works. Simple but true.
5. The power of language and stories.
We don’t describe the world we see–we see the world we describe. Language, as the single most fundamental force of the human intellect, has the power to alter perception. We think in words, and these words have the power to limit us or to set us free; they can frighten us or evoke our courage. Similarly, the stories we tell ourselves about our own lives eventually become our lives. We can tell healthy stories or horror stories. The choice is ours.
6. Multidimensional living.
There are three primary components of life: relationships, health, and purpose (which is usually work). Many people, though, put all their energy into just one area. The most common choice is work, because work best assuages our survival fears of not having enough and not being enough. Other people become obsessed with relationships (because relationship is another word for love), and some people limit their lives in the name of longevity. None of this works. Happiness comes from a full life.

Morning Message from Angelyn

~ All morning messages are channeled through Angelyn ~ please use discernment ~ thank you!

Dear Ones; Live life. Live the life you set out to live. Go deep within and find the Joy. For nothing else in life exists with out Joy. Love will come from your deeper part within your Joy . See not what is around you, but what is within you. It is there where your highest vibration is. Within YOU! Seek it not through others for only you can be the Joy that you are. You can only change what is within you. Your perceptions, your feelings and your reactions. Change does not come elsewhere.. Only judgement. You are the only one that can live your life. You see the world through your eyes and you feel what is around you. If something is wrong, only you can change it. Reach inside and change your vibration. You do that by being in the deepest heart of who you are. From there you can make a difference. Too often life is lived through those around you; the media, for instance. One persons view of your world. See something and resonate with the vibration you feel within you. When your vibration changes, you change. When you change you see the world around you differently. To see change you must change within you. Take one thing about your life and change it. Allow 21 days for the process to take affect. Be the change YOU wish to see for it begins with you. ~ AA Ezekiel ~

How can someone tell if my flash player needs upda

I got a weird flower from some guy in a diaper in texas. Very strange and he seems to know that my flash player needs to be updated based on my pictures on my profile? I don't get it. Someone help me out with this one. Did he hack into my PC or something? Besides that I didn't use this PC to upload those pictures. I used an old PC that doesn't even work anymore and the one I'm on now is a temp until my New PC gets fixed (stupid marketing tactics, buy a NEW PC and need to send it back a million times for it to work right).

Message of Light 3 (this one could bring tears to

Dear Ones; Your eyes are open but you do not see, you do not feel. You live in a world of chaos and conformity; rules and laws. But you do not see. For I am here, I am your life force, your creation. All creation. I have given you free will, but you forget who you are. You have freedom to chose, yet you do not see. Look to the world around you and be of it, not in it. See life. See what the chaos has done to your heart, your world. Now, close your eyes. For this is where you will find all that is. You. Your essence, your soul, your life force. This is where your light is, where your light shines. Allow your light to extend outward into the world created by human force, human change. To be the change in your world, you must first be the change within you. You have always been light, you have not changed. You are the essence of all that is beyond the chaos and confusion. Be still, for this is where it all begins.
~ Blessed be ~ Creator.

In Times of Crisis, Return to Innocence

In Times of Crisis, Return to Innocence

Have you ever watched children building sandcastles on the beach? They are a delight to watch, totally absorbed in what they are doing. They run around filling their buckets and make their castle higher and higher. When it finally stands in all its glory, they wait in excitement for the tide to come in and pull it down. Then they happily start again, building another castle.
Do you think that before they started building, they thought, Oh no, we shouldn’t build here - the tide is going to come in and destroy it! No, that’s not how they think. When the waves come, is there anguish? No. Just the excitement of the next project, a new moment, as they intuitively embrace creation and destruction as natural parts of life.
We were all children once. We all once embraced the unexpected tide rushing in, accepting the destruction of what has come before, remaining open to the unknown magic that awaited us around every corner. As adults, on the other hand, most of us seek to preserve the walls of our sandcastles at all costs, in a vain attempt to protect our achievements and possessions from the unpredictability of the world.
In times of crisis, we are all reminded of the uncertainty of the world. Yet if we embrace this uncertainty, and learn to flow with the changes that we are presented with, we can find joy and inner confidence in the most unexpected situations.
Embrace simplicity and spontaneity, and let go of the questions, controls, and opinions of the intellect. If you can rekindle the lost innocence of childhood while at the same time maintaining the maturity and sense of responsibility you have gained from adulthood, you will transform your life in ways you can’t imagine.
Ultimately, peace, love and joy are the most important things in life, not acquiring and possessing. When we realize this, we can use situations that seem negative to develop inner happiness. The way these circumstances affect us does not depend on the situation itself, but on whether or not we choose to use it as an opportunity to grow.
When we expand an internal experience of love-consciousness, we find an inner security that can never be questioned or threatened by anything external.
