Guess who's back (back..back..)

So yeah... PWNed boot camp. Got paid. Came back from IL to CT...

I get to leave soon!

Hey CS. Long time no see! I've been busy putting my affairs in order (kinda sounds like I'm dying, but I'm just going to boot camp) and almost completely forgot CS existed! laugh

Well, now is a good time to state that I actually know where my "A-school" is going to be... Groton, CT. Its the goods because I get to visit my friends in CT on weekends... its the suck because I wanted to see more of the world than freakin' CT. Oh well... dunno

Should I die in some training drill freak-accident... fare thee well, CS. Otherwise... guess I'll see you guys in March.

A haiku, by me...

For the purpose of suspense.... I'm going to try to fill up this first line with empty chatter so one does not see a snippet of the haiku before they actually click on the link to my blog.

Whales can be crunchy
Critters are tasty goodness
Dine on wine and swine

5,7,5 and has to do with nature, yes? That was my tribute to our delicious friends: the animals. I can only hope that the whack-job tree-huggers who read this are at least somewhat offended.laugh

(I like kitties though)

Sigh...

Missed out on some serious spiritual "food" this morning... would have been helpful for the task(s) ahead of me. Spose, on the plus side, I'll be getting an ample cash reward at the end of today to make up for my trials and/or tribulations (but that does not stop me from wishing today would be just a little different).

Tick tock.

Goes teh clock. I'm bored as I can get, and I lost a major client from the auto-dealership world. Apparently their boss says no outside vendors for any of their dealerships... and we were doing business with three of them! Yikes. So here I sit. I've absolutely nothing to do and no money to spend until the aforementioned dealership pays on the work we have already done for them. Could be up to 2 weeks before I see a cent. I could use a fresh book or game to occupy my mind for the next 12 hours... sigh

25ish years ago...

I was born. I'm sorry, you guys. I didn't mean for it to happen, but it did. That having been said... I'm still pretty awesome. rolling on the floor laughing Other than my facial expression not being what I wanted it to be... I think this Halloween photo is very much "me". It shows my general sense of "this is me, world: take it to the face" whilest also giving "the horns" and wearing vampire fangs (vampires are cool). thumbs up

Almost Halloweenytime

And I've been invited to a costumed party! drinking drinking
I gotta get myself a snazzy Halloween-related picture for CS before October is over!! It will probably be on the site before this post goes away... my train of thought kinda does it's own thing, I know. I'm actually thinking out loud about how I'm gonna post a picture after talking about it. laugh

Hmm.... I hope I can drink a beer while wearing vampire fangs.

This is why I'm hot...

Cuz I'm drinking a big 'ol cup of coffee at 9pm so I can stay awake long enough to read my new book (Desperation by Stephen King)!! yay "Crazy", you call me? I say nay! If I had a dispenser that produced fresh coffee every hour on the hour... I would probably have to go the the hospital for heart problems. But I would be very happy!rolling on the floor laughing

Like a true sailor.

I have had about 7 too many tonight. Gosh darn if I don't simultaneously represent a world-class drinker and shame myself. laugh I blame my friend, mostly. He poured almost all of my Bacardi 151 into my diet Pepsi when I was not looking (I swear if I didn't know any better I would say he was trying to get me drunk). confused This is mostly a blog for the sake of blogging (because I have not blogged in almost 5 days). Doon't judge me, for I swears on my gramma's grave I ain't an alcoholic. Just a social drinker (I drink on the occasional weekend).cheers

Dear Coffeemate/Vulpine

My last major political rant (entitled "My give-a-crap meter is moving...") may have been a bit confusing for some people. I can't say I blame anyone but myself for that... I've seen myself go on plenty a tangent before! laugh Also, for some reason it was posted twice and got two different debates going; one of which I was not even aware of!

That being said... there was definitely some confusion about the entitlement mentality part. For the sake of Coffeemate and Vulpine, (and forgive my sentence structure this morning... I'm taking more of a poetic license than I usually do) I feel it absolutely necessary to bring this up. To give the rest of you a little context, I was complaining about the rare breed of people who stand to move up in the world at the expense of others via social (or socialist) programs. After reading your comments I was shocked and a little confused, and I desperately hoped that I had communicated what I wanted to (and not left important details out). I reread my own post, however, and found that I did not leave an important detail out: I did state that I was complaining about "able-bodied adults" who don't work and think that they are entitled to the hard-earned money of others. I was really hurt and offended when Coffeemate tried to accuse me of blaming those that cannot help themselves (like her son) - but, my feelings aside, I blame myself more for not communicating what I wanted to say more clearly. I too would have been a little upset if I was in Coffeemate's position and thought someone was blaming my child for the world's financial problems! frustrated laugh So, I guess one of the points I hoped to make in this blog has been communicated; I blame those who can but won't, not those who can't.

My second point, which Vulpine touched on a bit more, is along the same lines (but it was challenged a different way). I wholeheartedly agree that we cannot leave the less fortunate behind in this country. I was raised with Christian values coming out the wazoo, man. Charity I love. I love to give even when I don't have very much for myself. What I don't love is when the government tries to impose "giving" my money to help for any number of causes which I may or may not approve of. I don't blame the less fortunate for the situation; I blame the greedy government. I had hoped that point would have been clear through some of my past rants.

I took the time to write this because:
1: I was surprised that the blog in question was still being commented on after I had posted a new one.
2: I felt the need to clarify my position.
3: I cared enough to try to clear up the misunderstanding (especially with Coffeemate). I'm well aware that my blog was emotionally charged, and if I try to make a point that someone disagrees with on some level... it is easy to feel attacked by my rant's energy level.

Questions, comments, concerns? angel

Mobrid morning.

Not for me, mind you; you will most likely be the ones to find it morbid. I woke up to dark skies this morning. The sky was so gray I had to check my alarm clock to be sure it was morning. I'm greeted with little specs of distorted lights falling from the sky. I hear the sound of rain trickling down the roof. The trees are red, orange, yellow and green; they are dying or becoming dormant. There is a soft breeze pulling more of the withered leaves off of a tree in my front yard. It is cold, dark and rainy outside...

And I could never be happier. wink

Late night mini-rant.

Know what I miss? Having a sweet lady-friend to curl up with on a cold night. Alas, I am doomed not to have female company for at least another year. Seems there are no local girls with an interest in me on CS... and in three months I'm leaving for boot camp, followed by job training (which, for me, is almost a year of school). I think I joined CS some time in mid-to-late summer... and back then I had hopes of meeting a girl to make the time I have to spend in CT a little easier on me. Instead I guess I have to wait till I'm situated somewhere far away... probably end up marrying a girl from another country. dunno I never thought my life would be so busy that I wouldn't have time to find a girlfriend. sigh
