Meeting people to ask out.

It's often said that just getting out there is the best way and it's probably right, but are there places or times when people would find it extremely inappropriate to be asked out?

Similar to another poster I don't really like the pubs/clubs scene, so I wanted to ask, what are some of the places people have met to ask out on a date?

I don't mean locations for the date itself, but just when/where you approached someone to ask them out.

never met anyone in a pub or club but have been asked out at work and some friends parties where new people were don't do the work thing if you can though could be uncomfortable if it did not go well

Perhaps get involved in some groups wherein you like the activities - if you find someone who enjoys the same stuff I think that's a bonus.

pool halls,public swimming pools,in a plane,the beach,in a mall in a shop @ the zoo just sum place i got asked out onconversing
