The first book in Anne Rices infamous vampire series was, in my opinion, the best. It was original and well paced. It is a book that stands completely on its own, no cliffhangers to make you go on to the next book (although you will probably want to for a while at least).

OUTRAGEOUS
I am a die-hard fan of Anne Rice's writing. I have almost all of her books. 'Interview with the Vampire' is a classic and it made the vampyric lore much more real and credible, like...vampires do exist parallel to us, in this same universe, why not?...fantastic book! But I enjoyed "Vampire Lestat", the second book, much more. I am currently reading her latest book "Angel Time: The songs of the Seraphim". Is a world of difference from 'Interview...' as it deals with God, Angels, Seraphs and a hit man...but the mesmerizing story telling, the graphic quality of her writing doesn't change. 'Interview' is a powerful book... you feel Louis's pain, Claudia's frustration, Lestat's cunning...

My...I'm going to have to read it all again...'The Vampire Chronicles' 'The New Vampire Chronicles', 'The Mayfair Waitches', and now the Angels Saga...

Storyline

#1 New York Times Bestselling author - The spellbinding classic that started it all - Book I of the Vampire Chronicles

Here are the confessions of a vampire. Hypnotic, shocking, and chillingly erotic, this is a novel of mesmerizing beauty and astonishing force—a story of danger and flight, of love and loss, of suspense and resolution, and of the extraordinary power of the senses. It is a novel only Anne Rice could write.

“Unrelentingly erotic . . . sometimes beautiful, and always unforgettable.”—Washington Post

“If you surrender and go with her . . . you have surrendered to enchantment, as in a voluptuous dream.”—Boston Globe
