I fully understand I have had two recently one was welcomed from an old friend but the other was a complete stranger. We need a cyber I.D. feature...or would it be I.M.I.D.

Once it opens , before you write anything, their pic and name will show up, tho you have to let it open, if you dont want to respond, close the window

I go into my mailbox and along the side it say's im's somewhere -hit that and it will show you who is trying to contact you-that way you can chat or say no....

go to incoming IM requests on the left-that should show you.

I agree. Other sites show the person's ID when they contact you.
I have some here that I like to chat with but occasionally end up with one I wouldn't want to.

I could not find a real good way to find out who is IMing me and got tired of getting IMed by scammers, so I just simply turned it off. If someone really cared enough, they would ask for my MSN or Yahoo messenger ID...after a few PM contacts first of course.

Just accept it and click on their profile to see who it is before you answer them.....and if you dont like what you see then click out of it.....

Easy peasy, check who view you to see if this person bother ro look at your profile. And if you want to know who they are just click on their picture on the IM.
