Even those of us who would not consider ourselves part of a click here can quickly find ourselves drawn into a flame war if it's an online friend who's being attacked by another person.
Even I, who as such don't associate myself with anyone, in RL or here, got drawn in a few days ago over the thread about holding a piece of paper with our username in our pic.
As such, in RL I am and always have been a loner, which suits me fine, as it gives me a more objective view to people's carry-on than people that are stuck in the middle of things.
Do I think things will die down...
In truth, not just yet. Having followed some of the rows, some of the people on the sidelines egging things on are still on here without even a temporary ban, so they're likely to kick off again shortly, which is a pity, as for some people, myself included, here is almost a substitute for RL socialising (long story which I won't bore people with here).
