I wonder if the old saying I heard as a child applies to this thing about the spiders: As in that explains why some animal eat their young.But in this case the male spider
I've also heard that if you don't seperate some baby fish that both parents will eat them.

Yep thats true on the fish part as well I used to have blood parrots and once the male has done his job to the eggs you have to seperate them other wise the parents will eat the eggs.
