ContraryCol: Back in 1991 I had moved to the countryside near London from Norther England.I had met the women who later became my ex wife and on her 18th Birthday we organised a big party. So,through our connections I hired out a function room as well as a DJ and a fantastic buffet for about 200 people.
The venue was only about 5 miles away from where we lived but what she did not tell me was that another girl from the village had her own 18th party on the same evening, and her party was being held at her house so most locals had a choice of that party or travelling to ours.
Only about 50 turned up and most of them I had never met before.
It cost me a fortune!!!

thats not good---i'm thinking another kid in his school had a party to attend or maybe they didn't want to miss church but I won't give up

I'll be hosting a christmas party as well

friends4now: my post wasn't about the material Robert
and from now on why dont you ignore what i write sense you are obviously trying to anger me
the party is not important to a 3 year old and any parent who has written here will explain that as well

i never wanted your fake sympathy anyway

Whoops!

I thought a party for a kid was about them having a great time........ not about taking them to Disney!

It just came over that you were far more concerned with what the other parents thought about you than whether your kid had a good time............ that was what I perceived from your OP and if I perceived wrong then 'sorry'.

My nest birthday party was when I was 50 and spent hardly anything but had a great time......... my worst birthday party ever was when I took over the nightclub of a top London hotel and invited 300 people and only eight turned up! sigh thumbs up thumbs down
