HavinFuninTx: I forgot to specifically say how much fun it was to meet both of you. And thanks for the HUGS!

Ahhh! hug

I gotta admit that place is akin to trying to take a sip from a fire hydrant though... eeek! There's just SO MUCH going on everywhere you look! help

When I walked back to the parking area, I couldn't believe how quiet it was suddenly. The festival grounds are far noisier than you might think. But I guess that's why they call it a "festival" and not a "wake". LOL!

So where'd you disappear to? Did anybody stay for the Jousting contests? I bet that's a sight to see!

ps. That was only the 2nd time I'd ever been out to the Festival, and the previous time was I guess 7 years or so ago. Plus I was very nervous about driving out there myself... seemed like I'd never get to Magnolia! I almost turned around at one point thinking somehow I'd missed it. confused

So yeah, I was a bit overwhelmed no doubt. LOL!

I saw the joust. Our section won. Hahahaha. I liked the other guy in blue tho better. Mmmmmmmmm!

It gets easier each time, Michael. Come in a costume. Then it is more fun.

Maybe next year. You'll have to help me! Oh I saw there were StormTroopers out at the Festival this year... I'd so love to go as a Terminator with metal skull pieces applied to my face and arms! That would be too cool! grin

I could so be a Terminator!

yes there were on the pirate weekend. Two storm troopers, princess laya and darth vador.

I personally wasn't a fan of that because it's not rennaisance at all...it's sci fi. But each to thier own.

Well I'm just not in to that whole "men in tights" thingy, ya know? dunno

LOL!

Friday would be a great day to go back out there again, but it's also going to be a great day for flying so I'm going flying Friday instead. Oh well... maybe next year there will be more windy days during the Renaisance Festival. The weather sets my priorities right now. grin

hug

There are other costumes than tights. Heck, they did not really have tights all that much. Just all their clothes were hand made per person. They did not waste materials on the men much. I personally like 'tights' on men.

I am going tomorrow and they are having a High Fantasy Sociaty meeting ain Livingston and I am providing avian masks for a Quest, along with some wings.

Livingston is a beautiful area! I love the lake there especially!!! And there's an R/c flying field between the lake and town also.

So what's this High Fantasy thingy?

It is another type of role playing group that likes to spar with mock weapons. They also hold quests.
