You won't get blood poisoning from a rusty nail.. Please, stick to discovery. It would take alot more than just rust, and that if tetanus shot is up to date, it's just time-based healing.
Second, 6-8 hrs is too long for most forms of blood poisoning, if you notice it swelling more, or getting brighter skin color-wise.. go then. The faster you respond to blood poisoning, the better the odds of you surviving it without permanent damage.
