Family businesses are very tricky. Ensure everything is in writing. Make sure their are clear roles on who does what and who controls what. Separate business from your personal life.

U r exactly right & I guess I just trusted my brothers & now I'm in trouble, sick & tired with everything after working there for 10 years. I did my best to tolerate all that they had done to me. I was treated like dirt & still kept on working hard assuming they would appreciate my work & one day they would praise me for it but it never happened. They kept on harassing me with unbearable comments & now I've lost confidence in myself. I've got so stressed out & because of this I've got heart problem. Now I'm so helpless but I think there will be a bright light coming thru someday. I hope I can get the confidence back & that I will be happy again...

my family owned 2 businesses 1 retail 1 wholesale--wholesale is still running
DONT WORK WITH FAMILY!!!!
we all have worked at some point or another with another family member and it just ends badly
at least in my family it does
if you do go into business with them be careful-it will be very easy to step on someones feelings or to upset them just a bit too much and than it is downhill

Thanx for ur advice. I hurts when u know that I've dont so much for the business & what u get is a push from the highest hill. They will never ever find a person like me ever to work for them but I've decided to find a job that may pay me less but to enjoy & be able to smile everyday

My soon to be EX(I can't wait) went to work for my extended family against my advice. She has a degree in Physical Therapy and they were calling the house to give her a job weekly. I told her to stay home and pass the state license and go into the Physical Therapy field, what she said she wanted to do in the first place. No, instead she went to work for the family and came home crying daily. Then came the child, now less time for study and to this day after failing the exam 3 times, she still is not working in her field. I guess when your really hard core stupid and dumb...it is what it is!!

3.You can ask your roommate to cover your shift
Cons~
1.They'll know your not sick when you calll in and say you are
2. Stripping at work is frowned on
3. You sleep with your boss
4. You have to celebrate holidays with your co-workers
5. They all know you pick your nose
