Yes I have when a good friend has IM'd me, but when it pops up, it is blocked and I can accept or not accept. I will check out who just IM'd me from there. Almost never send an IM back.

my i.m. is on all the time,but only for locals,i find it much easier to talk via i.m. than email-but i am pretty cut throat when it comes to choosing who i will talk to.

Hi, I have a good friend on here too, we usually mail each other before hand also....but still its anoying that when chatting the pop ups just keep coming in, I do find it really simple compared to msn and Yahoo though, I miss the emo's

No, mine is permanently turned off but I get repeated requests from the same people. It is in the heading of my profile that No IM chats - IM is off. Sometimes I even write to folks to tell them not to waste their time but they get angry. I really wish that I could block people from their profiles and not only after you receive a message from them.
