If one imagined the shift of power to be entirely based on natural processes such as demographics, work ethics, resources, etc. then, yes, the countries of the south would be in a good position to assume greater importance.
But alas, sadly, that's not how things work.
The western powers has been at work for centuries holding the southern countries "in their place" by means of rigged elections, engineered coups and wars, economic sabotage, imposed dictatorships, engineered epidemics, etc etc etc.
The developing countries are defenseless against the power of globalist social engineers. Poor governments are easily coerced, corrupted, or overthrown.
