Only new my self, but i have met a few on another place and im like yourself as in preferring to meet up for a drink instead of mailing for ages. This site is poor to be honest,

OH whinge whinge whinge........... here we go again.
Ive been here for a week and I cant belive that my mailbox isnt overloading with e-mails from all the thousands of women online begging me to go out on a date with them. I mean I know Im not some sort of crazy nut job who is going to stalk them and kill their goldfsh if they dont sleep with me on the first date. These women should be so grateful that I bothered to even set up an account..... all my ex girlfriends say Im brilliant.

A week?
Not exactly realistic to expect to have dates lined up in a week. And if your not into chatting via mail then internet dating may not be for you.
Have been here 3 weeks and have arranged to meet a guy I have been chatting to and am happy with that, certainly didnt expect to join up and met someone within a week.

Been on 2 years. I met with one person. To be honest it's a bit rubbish.

I see what you are saying but still feel that a week is to short a time to expect to meet someone and you will have to do some chat first, remember we can all say what we want online and people are a bit more cautious about arranging to met someone if they have been here awhile and maybe had a bad experience.
I agree that its not a good idea to chat indefinatly before meeting but you need to find the middle ground.

Just look at it as an extra resource to your
social network you can still meet people
in bars and clubs .
If you meet and theres no spark well maybe
theres a chance to make a new friend at least .
everybody has a social circle so making friends
with someone new opens up their social circle
to you too .

women would be falling over themselves to ask me out and profess their undying love for me,i thought i would be introduced to page 3 girls with degrees in astro physics........................and thats exactly the way it was,
but seriously be prepared for a hard slog in the online dating world

skinnyminnypink: Hey K ... well said, someone said to me recently that one of the bonus' on this site was the random friendships which could be made, (as well as the rest), really looking forward to a wee chat with you in KK. And it's the same with any social group, you become closer to some than others and there's always the possibility of meeting new people ... I still treasure the advice and support I was given here as a newbie and hope sometimes I have been able to give some back ...
