upc and wireless (17)

anyone got upc and using wirleless modem
for past month been getting disconnected and need to reboot router
on 20 mb so it shouldnd be speed issues

Thats what Im using, havent noticed any problems other than the usual

its a belkin n router
with upc (old ntl)changed channels on my wireless currently on channell 13 and is only user in area using that channell know that by scanning with inssider unfortunately router and modem is in stepdaughters room at moment so cant test with hardline till i het modem moved downstairs

Ah thought I could have had a simple solution for ya doh
were on the vodafone wireless broadband and never have
any problems with it ever highly recommended
we were with eircom and it was terrible very mad

no problem ,just hard to know if it a upc or local problem if you ring upc they will deny any support if its linked up with a router

tks ll might just upgrade to 30 mb get router /modem from upc if still got problems i can blame upc

Have you tried switching the router on and off and re-setting it. My broadband stopped a while ago with UPC and they told me it was a wireless problem with my laptop. I told them it couldn't possibly be a wireless problem as I was robbing an unsecured UPC signal as the one I am paying you for is not bloody working grin . So she was able to tell me that my router and modem had not been powered off in nearly 6 months and to try a reset. It's working fine now...could work dunno

have to reboot router by unplugging it everytime it go usually happens at least once a day sometimes if i just diconnect and reconnect wireless on laptop that sorts it out did rebbot modem a few times in last month as i said only last month or so this happening got 4 laptops in house but as i said its a 20 mb downloads should not be issues

yeah i agree blue customer service is crap unless you get lucky with a rep not reading from the script i remember i was using usb connection when i upgraded to 20 mb 2 years ago instead of ethernet and took 12 calls to upc wondering why i wasnt get full dl speed figured it out in end by myself all i was getting was switch of modem restart modem and will get senior rep to call back
as for current problem i probally just upgrade to 30 mb get the free modem router combo that way if still got problems i can blame it on them instead of getting run around need to relocate modem anyway

TG .......I do take it you know you can upgrade to 30mb for free??. Indeed anybody on UPC can upgrade for free. They dont tell you about it though lol. Here is the link. You simply fill it in and you receive your confirmation email within 24 hours laugh

My mate who is an engineer with them tipped me off but that was months ago. Jasus I don't want to bum steer anybody so fill it out at your own perillaugh
