you dont need to backdate car tax if you havent been caught, go to your local motor taxation office and get a motor tax renewal form, The second last section is period of non use, you can fill in the dates "the car wasnt in use"
and save yourself a few quid, you just need to go to a garda station and get the form stamped, they may ask you why was it off the road, just make an excuse engine problems or some Bullsjit like that

ooo well i wont be goig near the motor tax place till end of this month im stoney broke! and exhausted,, having a good sat night out can be painful ,,, not to the wallet but to my poor tootsies
