I've the 3G for 18months now, was debating the 4G since it came out but with all the bad press and experiencing the new software on the current phone, i'm doubtful of upgrading to 4G now.
Its sold out in most places at the min......

screen on 4G is just amazing. way better camera and video too. 10% or so extra battery life. slightly faster than 3G

I have my 3GS gathering dust, got a 4g on 3. wasn't worth the upgrade in my opinion :( yeah it has a couple of whistles on it that the 3 didn't have (haha facetime? didn't take off 8 years ago, wont now either). But over all, the price difference for a sim free one (for example) isn't worth it really.
WTS 3GS though! it's sim Free (jailbroken) as it's locked to Orange.fr.

I have a Nokia E63 and can't imagine what any phone can do, that I'd want it to do, that this one can't... OK, camera and video aren't great but don't use them much anyway... I've got all my music on here, can access internet through Meteor or a WLAN, have access to Word, Excel etc. Dunno what all the iphone fuss is about...

I have my 3GS from France. It will only take an Orange/France Telecom sim card. I've tampered with the software on it so it will take any sim card, it just means when new software updates come out you have to wait for them to be 'tampered' with by a bunch of geeky pirates before you can use the new update :P if you update before the pirates wave their wands, the phone will only take the original french sim card again. Curse those apple heathens!
