I would have agreeed with you in the past, and I agree that Carreras does not sing it quite as well as Pavarotti but the Carreras one with the strasbourg orchestra above is the complete package imho. Although in saying that This would be my No. 2 :

Yea Bjorling has a great voice, Carreras sings some lovely songs but I dont think his voice is as deep as Pavarottis and doesnt suit that song but thats just my opinionJussi Bjorling
