It's easy to differentiate chinese lanterns from fire balls/meteors ects. The chinese lanterns seem to float whereas the fireballs cross much faster and have a different trajectory
What's really interesting now is that we';ve moved into a Solar Maximus phase and that could mean the Aurora Borealis might make it down as far as Ireland. Now that is a truly spectacular sight.
