We use it to talk to our sister and other relatives overseas. We like it. If the screen wasn't so small then it would be as if we were sitting talking. 
Depending on the camera you have, sometimes it can be a bit freezy. But I'm certainly not complaining when I can see them while I talk to them.

I haven't used the skype for years..it was not real good back then as in clear etc... But I have heard its better now....
