What do you think this saying means? From what I gather, after the flower dies, the memory from the person who gave you that rose does in fact live as long as you want it to in your heart, and mind..
Every thing beautiful in life lives forever through the experiences that everyone has of it during its existence.
That includes roses, people, and any other beautiful fleeting thing in nature.
Here's another one,...
"A rose is a rose by any other name"
Whatever something is, is what it is, and it's the experience of that entity that matters the most, not what label you put on it.
Why people chose roses for the basis of these metaphors, I'm not sure. Probably because they are traditionally associated with beauty, love, and all that is romantic in life.
Actually, I wrote that saying about "a rose lives forever even though it dies", and you caught on; you totally understood what I meant... Yes sir, I am a 100% harcore Hopeless Romantic.. I had to come up with something in English class [Alvin Community College] long ago and that was the saying I wrote on the board.
