The Americans are no friends of ours. An Obama veto cost this country 20 billion Euro remember. The IMF and US are only bit players here. The European Central Bank is keeping the Irish Banks going to if they say "No" it won't happen.
Also lets be clear about the amount here. It will only be a percentage of 3 billion Euro and not the whole 3 billion.

Personally I don't think it will happen and think FG announced it yesterday to coincide with their first 100 days in office.

The big unsecured bonds are in BOI and Allied Irish Bank. But the ECB will never allow those bonds to be devalued, even though all these bonds have been sold on by the original bondholders at a loss already!

The ECB is lending the Irish government money to bail out Irish Banks who owe it subsidiary banks of the ECB. They lent money wrecklessly to our banks on a high risk speculation which lost. They then got out traitor politicians to agree that the State would take over the private debt of the private banks to save the ECB's buddies from losing out. They are really giving the money to themselves, or more correctly since the tab is being signed on our behalf by traitor politicians, we are giving them the money.

Funny how people believe they are giving us money. Full marks to them for brainwashing and propaganda. They're good.

howlingwolf: I agree but was Geither acting on Obama's orders or were they both just puppets of ...?

Yes, it was sickening to see Queenie and Soetoro getting all that praise and cheers. I used to listen to Joe Duffy on the interweb and I nearly puked up listening to him going on about how 'wonderful' it all was. Am I changing the subject if I quickly mention what a donkey Joe Duffy is?

No...You are dead right! Joe Duffy is a donkey. Don't know how anyone listens to him droll on. Everything comes back to religion with him. He is worse than Gay Byrne ever was...and that is saying something.

This is loosley still connected to the original post as Gay Byrne lost all his money when Anglo went bang!laugh

Poor aul Gay, I didn't know that. He got cleaned out by some accountant back in the 80's as well I think. I only listen to Duffy to see what the powers that be are planning. When they are about to pass some law, tax or whatever they have the likes of Duffy do one of his outraged, 'villagers, let's get our pitchforks and lanterns' campaigns. A cynic can learn a lot from listening to Donkey Duffy.

That's the one. They say people whose nostrils are open like his lose money are people whose noses curl down to hide the nostrils, like Alber Reynolds, are good at keeping it. I think I'll just keep my head down. Laterz
