Sleeper Profiles (2)
katt1017: I've noticed several of what I would call "Sleeper" profiles. A profile starts posting large numbers of posts, usually to a political thread. Maybe dozens per day.
Here's the strange thing though....
When you check their posting profile you'll find that they may have many months ago. At that time they made two or three very ordinary posts about some subject like a favorite song or the like.
Now after "sleeping" for two to ten months they awaken and go into a posting frenzy. Stranger still these people all seem to have the same political leanings.
Strange huh?
Does anyone have any theories about these sleeper profiles? Narcolepsy, alien abduction or anything else?

I've a theory which just might explain some of what you are asking! Maybe when the people joined up they were not sure of the site and maybe if they had introverted characters they may have posted on certain things and then stopped because they maybe weren't responded to or were ridiculed by someone on the forum. Just a thought.
Maybe they started posting in the political section because they have an interest in it and when they met other people on it that had the same leanings they felt comfortable. "Safety in a crowd" kind of thing.
Maybe they like to post on American politics because they look at that country and realize its importance in the world. Maybe they have family and friends there too. It is a nation of immigrants after-all.
Maybe more than one person does actually have different beliefs than you. Everyone can't be a duplicate profile.
Going back to the first point again. I have another idea. Just a thought again. Maybe they only post a couple of times on other subjects and then stop because they bump into someone like you whose narcissistic behaviour and demeaning attitude make them nervous about entering forum discussions again. Many people are on here after-all because they find everyday conversation doesn't come to easy to them. Just maybe!!
