Never expected to be writing this in any lifetime soon....
The Renault Megane 3 is quite simply the best production car that Renault have built in the last 15 years... I say 15 because the last vehicle they made which could carry the title was Clio 2... Ok, so what has this got to do with anything?... Im not "pitching" for the company I work for, Dammit, they have salesmen for that job... I fix the cars, or more likely..............DONT!... Two years out on the Irish market, Megane has yet to show any of the faults its namesake was plagued with, Indeed, I half wonder if it was a good idea naming this superb car after the dross that preceded it... Two little niggles, door striker plates, and drivers seat lumbar handles, both a 5 minute fix at the dealer and obviously FOC / warranty... This is the car that will restore Renaults fortunes in the reliability stakes and cripple there aftermarket (repair) prospects....Good news indeed for the consumer (not quite so good for the garage repair revenue stream)... In a time where reliabity is key and cost is still a major consideration, I honestly believe this car represents excellent value for money and is the rightfull, if unexpected successor to the much lauded VW Golf....
