yes where's the professor...funny you mentioned him..that is who i thought to address this to in the first place..he knows everything!! professor! professor
You know who else might know? The Kansan and AdventureBegins. They're right up there with the Professor in smarts. (I hope I got your name right AB, I'm still learn'n everybody's handle.)
The photos seem to be on their own server ... if the connection to this server is slow or interrupted you still see everything else (comes from different server) except the images
not sure that's the reason ... it is just a possibility ... to define it more specific ... there are way more info needed about your system, internet connection, location (backbone server) ect.
red x sounds for Internet Explorer ... did you try to open the same site with Firefox? with Linux and Konqueror I did not have this problem on that site ...
SuSE 9.2 pro don't like the SuSE 10 and 10.1 too much ... installed a ubuntu desktop version to test it and didn't liked it too much either now I like to try ubuntu server and hope they is the stuff working I need (LAMP)
Yes, the photos are on their own server - that was part of the recent changes that came into play. Konqueror and Firefox work just peachy with it. You don't need to know backbone server to troubleshoot connectivity, either.
If you're using IE.. go into your IE options, and dump the temporary internet files. After you do so, make sure that you have it check for updates to the page every time you visit it. (IE option) There are times when photos may just not display right due to corrupt packet or other. This happens more often than not in terms of something picture-wise on CS. If it's moved on CS, it generally gets fixed fast.
Another thing to try, use the F5 key to refresh a page if you're getting erratic picture loads. More often than not, nudging the server for a fresh set of data will do the trick.
Assuming neither of these work, let me know what browser version you're running, what patches are installed and I'll do a bit of testing to see if it's on your side with the browser configuration, or it's on the CS side.
thanx rich for your in-put...and everyone else too...pic is back today,w/out my readin' your reply!!! go figure! and oddly enuff i did delete cookies n temp files last nite..but not much past that at this point,i have aol n i.e.,ad-aware,outlook exp.,wind.98! thanx all!
I didn't said you NEED to know it ... but it is a POSSIBILITY depending on what server you like to reach from what point in the world ... Would be not the first time in my work that this comes into play ... even so I agree the chance is small ... but possible and easy to figure out with a simple trace ...
Yeah ... I consider that also to test ... ubuntu is based on debian ... that's a fact I really like ... fedora is it's own script as far I know ... or? Mandrake I didn't liked too much either and slack I never really looked into ... maybe I should ...
