I went a little off subject, there's not really a limit. I think it depends on how close you are to the person and what is acceptable between the two of you. For example, while you may have been embarrassed by loud yelling in the restaurant, it was (if secretly) acceptable.

Is saying "I love you" enough for you?
Or do take actions and do things like buying flowers, and cooking dinner, these are nice things, but a bit on the boring side for me.
I had a boyfriend once that was so wild, that after he proposed to me, he then yell that I was the woman he loved, I mean he yelled it at the top of his lungs in the restaurant and everybody started clapping. He was like a maniac
If your car brakes down in a blizzard, would you still walk miles to get to her house to see her?
(My ex did this, that's how I ended up with him)
