Yep, you have to check up on those doctors, some are really not too bright. I don`t know how they got through medical school.

But you know what? It is called "Practice" and that is just what they do. So it is better to get a more experienced practiced Doctor.

And remember doctors burry all their mistakes.

i had some bloods done and the results were very bad and i was in great danger, 6 months later they found out when i lectured the doctor, he said ok ill check your blood results then. and then you should have seen the shock in his face. he was on the phone a hour then because i could have died anytime the results were so bad. and this was a fully qualified doctor

I am very, very fortunate. I can only imagine what it must be like to have a doctor that is no good - it must be hell. I have a wonderful doctor and the hospital I am under is absolutely brilliant - couldn't wish for more from them. They have all been stars......

I've never had a problem letting a doctor know that I'm perfectly content leaving them for someone else if I think their work is inadequate. I did it recently with one of my specialty doctors who repeatedly made me take appointments with a nurse practioner. Nothing against NP but after four months of non-stop pain and her telling me to "take some tylenol" I went and found someone else (who I love!)

The worse ever was when I ended up in the emergency room a few months ago. I had really bad abdominal pains that just got worse and worse. They made me do all these paperwork and then left me alone in a room for over two hours. During that time I developped a very high fever and was crying from the pain. When they finally got around to me, my tonsils had swollen my throat almost completely closed, my appendix was ready to burst, and I had another rupture in my stomach. After that they started to hustle and bustle and I got my surgery and painkillers and all was well.

I'm sure there are good doctors out there, but the majority I just want to punch.

Oh, I agree, honey. I would have no trouble either. Here in the UK we have the NHS, everone pays into it. The doctors are there to serve us, not just as a job but they have a serious obligation to us. They have to do right by us. If not, we do have the right to a second, third, fourth opinion. Sometimes you do have to fight for that and your rights, its not on, but fight you must. At the end of the day its your health and your life, its worth fighting for.......

I'm sorry to hear that the major concensis is that most of you don't like your doctors. Doctors go to school for a long long time and have invested in their medical license. I have a hard time imagining that so many are so careless or unconcerned. I have always had wonderful doctors.

I am still curious as to why a person would get stuck in the neck with a needle?
