Hmm...woofy..I have had the opposite experience. I started some weeks without pics and then posted pics...the difference was significant. There is much better response with a picture. However I respect that some people doesn´t want to post their pictures for whatever reason the may have
I also respond to people without pictures - I put more attention to what they actually write, not how the look. But then again - I guess I am not getting as many mails as those who chose not to.

The other side of the coin is :-
A thousand words paint a million pictures.
They are both two beautiful ways of communicating but are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes in finding a mate.
You know the most difficult thing to asess is, the interest that someone may have in you or you in them. Perhaps a good idea to cut the red tape so to speak would be to have a "Interest Gauge" in the email section -- you know like the hot and cold game. Or is this to much 1984 kinda stuff
