I'm just wondering if anyone else has run into this ( Archived) (13)

I just ran into a whopper of a scam and I was just wondering if any other guys were contacted.
I was contacted by a woman on this site who wanted me to talk to her by way of personal e-mail instead of this site.
I thought no biggie, a lot of people would rather talk this way. I have talked to others this way before and nothing odd has happened so I said okay.
Her profile said that she lived near me here in Phoenix and we had a few good conversations with nothing strange happening so I thought everything was cool.
Last night I tried to take a look at her profile and it was gone.
So last night I wrote to her asking what happened to her profile and she wrote back saying that she took it off because she had found the man of her dreams (me!) so she no longer needed it to be on the site.
Now comes the serious stuff! LOL!!! She is in west Africa with her mother who is in the hospital. She even included a couple of pictures of some woman laying in a hospital bed! Sorry, I'm still laughing.
She says that she is also closing a deal on a business that the family has sold for 4.5 million but she needs the signature of her fiance to close the deal!
She claims to be a graduate of Arizona State with a law degree yet at least 3/4 of her words are misspelled! Anyway, I sent her a choice reply to her message.
End of story.

I was just wondering if anyone else has run into this scam. She went by the name of Kellie something on this site. I can't remember the whole name she used because she pulled it.

I've had an Email like that, but I never replied to it. I get it alot on my myspace account too, so I can kinda recognize it.

I only get these mails where somebody invites me to another dating site, does that count?

hell i get them all the time in my yahoo email. but not someone needing a finacee or spouce.. just someone in the states to accept a large sum of money and then wire it to their location for a share of the cash..
