while i respect the people who decide not to post a pic on their profile i wonder if there is a way of knowing that they r genuine maybei would be possible to have some form of idenity asked for when joining the site ..this is a super site and whatsmore its free but i think the members would feel more secure about posting on the forum if it were possible. i have made many new friends and happily recomend cs to people i meet and i respect the right of members not to show a pic although i feel they would meet more people if they did .have u any suggestions on how it could be done professor

When you first register people fill up a form. Whether this is truthfully filled up is a different matter.

This is a free site and I guess quite a number of new people join daily and whilst I’m sure that the site administrators try to compare IPs with the selected location of residence (example .mt for Malta, .au for Austria etc), it is difficult to check and VERIFY each new account.

What (maybe) site admin could do is start requesting new members that they use a traceable e-mail address not free e-mails (Hotmail, Yahoo, G-mail etc). That could be one way of limiting multiple profiles BUT it still isn’t a watertight solution (not to say that it could screw me over since I registered under a Hotmail account).

And the pictures mean very little by the way.

Prisoners have numbers too - no way an indication that they are reformed though.

Wed, this isn't an internet banking website....

I have bad experiences with posting my picture. So please forgive me. But the site may always request a copy of my ID. I am who I say am. I know that others twist the truth.

i know kt but finding a new partner is more important than any bank a/c so why not have the same security after all with the bank a/c they can only strip the money while here well

*shrug*

It is up to the site administration to implement measures that they deem fit.

They might not wish to make it to daunting though.

It is a free site after all. Other dating sites charge money - money, which I hasten to add most people would not be prepared to pay.

That money is used to employ people who do the screening process, find possible matches, maintain the site, etc etc ad infinitum...

That in itself could stop some undesirables from joining BUT the end result is the distinct possibility that quite a good number of the people presently here would leave within approx 0.5 microseconds.

The site admins here do a good job of giving us enough rope to swing as we please. If they see that we are not toeing the line then they jerk the rope and hang us with it.

Look, how many people are on CS and what percentage of those cause trouble?

Hey, even in the real world, as opposed to the cyber world, there are cons! Hiding the truth about themselves is a fact of most people's lives.
